Let’s Make a Quilt

Instructor: Ruth Anne Cheney of Quilting on the Curve
Cost: $35 + fabric and pattern from Quilt Haven on Main
Set aside a day for you to make a quilt! Ruth Anne will guide you through your choice of either ‘A Slice or Two’ or ‘Split Image’. Both are available in multiple sizes. ‘A Slice or Two’ is made with a layer cake or 12 fat quarters and finishes at 69.5″ x 82.75″ or 72.25″ x 86″. You can also add a charm pack and extra border fabric to make it 82.75″ x 96″ or 86.75″ x 99.5″. ‘Split Image’ is available in 61″ x 79″ or 79″ x 96″. Stop into Quilt Haven on Main before class and we’ll help you pick out your fabrics. Bring your own lunch. Call us at 320-587-8341 to register.

Beginning Quiltmaking

Fee: $50 plus pattern and fabrics from Quilt Haven on Main
Level: Beginner and beyond; you should know how to use your sewing machine
Instructor: Trix
This class for the beginner and quilter ‘wanna-be’ will cover every step of making a quilt including cutting, making strip sets, half-square triangles and two ways to make flying geese. And it’s all easier than you think. This class is aimed at the beginning quilter but if you’ve taken a different beginning quilting class, you could still learn a lot from making this quilt. No more fear of triangles! You will finish the quilt top and binding will be taught. An optional session will be offered to show layering techniques and machine quilting basics.
Total of 8 two-hour sessions. You’ll be making Chunky Monkey in your choice of fabrics.
