Beginning Quiltmaking

8 sessions 7 pm – 9 pm
Fee: $60 plus pattern and fabrics from Quilt Haven on Main
Level: Beginner and beyond; you should know how to use your sewing machine
Instructor: Trix
This class for the beginner and quilter ‘wanna-be’ will cover every step of making a quilt including cutting, making strip sets, half-square triangles and two ways to make flying geese. And it’s all easier than you think. This class is aimed at the beginning quilter but if you’ve taken a different beginning quilting class, you could still learn a lot from making this quilt. No more fear of triangles! You will finish the quilt top and binding will be taught. An optional session will be offered to show layering techniques and machine quilting basics.
Total of 8 two-hour sessions. You’ll be making Chunky Monkey in your choice of fabrics. Stop into Quilt haven on Main to let us help you pick out fabrics ahead of class.

Featherweight Club – Tuesday’s

The fourth Tuesday (and Wednesday) of the month, 10 am – 5 pm or as long as you want to sew.  You are invited to bring your Featherweight machine and join us for a day of great fun and fellowship at Quilt Haven on Main. Join us for 3 glorious days of quilting. You don’t even need to be a hunting widow! There is an optional potluck the first night and a pizza buffet the second night (included in retreat fee). The other meals are on your own, and bring an optional snack to share.
Optional 15-minute chair massage on Friday, November 8
$20 payable directly to the massage therapist. She takes cash, check or Venmo.
